SNK Corp. and Plaion GmbH this week said it will release five titles from Data East to the Neo Geo AES+.
Titles to be released include Karnov’s Revenge, Magical Drop II & III, Street Slam, and Spinmaster.
In addition, Zero Wing, a 1989 shooter developed by Toaplan, will be released for the Neo Geo AES+.
The Neo Geo AES+ is said to be a faithful remanufacture of the iconic Neo Geo AES console powered by re-engineered ASIC chips and no emulation or FPGA approximation. The console is compatible with original Neo Geo AES cartridges, Arcade Sticks, and Memory Card, in addition to new AES cartridges to be sold in conjunction with the new hardware. In addition, the hardware will add modern connectivity including low-latency HDMI. It will retain the original AV output for CRTs and add DIP switches for language selection, overclocking and display mode selection.
In addition to the console, Plaion will release the original wired Neo Geo Arcade Stick with 15-pin connector, Neo Geo AES+ Gamepad (Wireless) with 15-pin Wireless Gamepad dongle, a replica of the Neo Geo CD Gamepad, and Memory Card for permanent high score saves.
A total of ten AES game cartridges will be available to purchase including Metal Slug, The King of Fighters 2002, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Big Tournament Golf, Shock Troopers, Samurai Shodown V Special, Pulstar, Twinkle Star Sprites, Magician Lord and Over Top at $89.99 each.
The Neo Geo AES+ Original Edition with console and wired Neo Geo Arcade Stick will be sold at $249.99. The Neo Geo AES+ Anniversary Edition with Neo Geo Arcade Stick (Wireless) in limited all-white will be sold at $349.99. Finally, the Neo Geo AES + Ultimate Edition will include the Neo Geo AES+ Original Edition with console and wired Neo Geo Arcade Stick, Neo Geo Arcade Stick (Wireless), Neo Geo AES+ Gamepad (Wireless), 10 Neo Geo AES game cartridges, and Game Rack at $999.99.
It will be sold Sept. 14, 2027.
