Apple Inc. this week announced the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, an incremental update to its latest Pro series models.
The iPhone 18 Pro packs the new A20 Pro chip, new variable aperture for the 48MP Fusion Main camera, smaller Dynamic Island, and longer battery life.
The A20 Pro chip with 6-core CPU and 7-core GPU features 50 percent more memory bandwidth. In addition, the new GPU design is up to 40 percent faster for graphics rendering.
The new aperture control allows the camera to auto adjust for depth of field and lighting. In addition, a new sensor is said to improve image quality and improve low light photography.
The smaller Dynamic Island can now show up to three Live Activities simultaneously.
Battery life now clocks at 36 hours of video playback for iPhone 18 Pro and up to 45 hours for the 18 Pro Max. In addition, a five-minute wired charge can add seven hours of video playback.
The iPhone 18 Pro will sell at $1,199 and the Pro Max will sell at $1,299.
