Nintendo Co., Ltd.’s Nintendo Switch 2 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Famitsu this month said Nintendo Switch 2 sales totaled 20,734 units to rank as the No. 1 hardware between Aug. 17 and Aug. 23.

A total of 6.2 million units have been sold in the region to date.

In Q1, Nintendo held net sales of $3.2 billion, down 9.5 percent year-over-year. Net profit increased 52.1 percent to $2.7 billion. Meanwhile, operating profit climbed to $902.7 million, up 150.5 percent from one year ago.

The Nintendo Switch 2 sold 3.82 million units in the quarter, down 34.4 percent compared to the year prior. The hardware has sold 23.68 million units to date.

Nintendo Switch 2 software totaled 9.46 million units sold, an increase of 9.2 percent year-over-year.

Nintendo held its annual net sales forecast of $12.67 billion and operating profit of $2.34 billion. The company forecasts 16.5 million Nintendo Switch 2 sales for the full fiscal year ending Mar. 2027.
