Sony Corp.’s PlayStation 5 ranked as the No. 2 top-selling video game hardware in the latest retail data from Japan.

Famitsu this month said the PS5 19,955 units to rank as the No. 2 hardware between Aug. 10 and Aug. 16.

For the period, the PS5 Pro sold 360 units, the PS5 sold 205 units and the PS5 Digital Edition sold 19,310 units.

In Q1, the PS5 hardware shipments totaled 1.6 million units, a 36 percent decline from 2.5 million units compared to the year prior. Hardware sales totaled to 95.6 million units to date.

PS5 and PS4 software sales totaled 66.1 million units in the period, an increase from 65.9 million units compared to one year ago. Digital game purchases totaled to 82 percent of software sales.

The Game and Network Services segment, which includes the PlayStation business, held flat net sales of $5.8 billion, a 0.6 percent increase year-over-year. The division held operating income of $1.25 million, a 37 percent increase from the year prior.

The PlayStation Network held 125 million active users in Q1.
