Nintendo Co., Ltd. this week said it will sell a new Nintendo Switch 2 SKU with a user-replaceable battery in Europe this fall.

The new hardware is in preparation for European battery regulations to take effect in mid-Feb. 2027.

The first revised products will be sold this summer and conclude by early 2027.

New Joy-Con controllers will be sold this summer, a new Nintendo Switch 2 console will be sold this autumn, followed by Joy-Con 2 controllers and the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller this winter.

Finally, the Nintendo 64 controller for the Nintendo Switch and the GameCube controller for the Nintendo Switch 2 will be sold in early 2027.

Nintendo said due to new battery regulations, sales for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and Nintendo Switch – OLED Model will end in Europe by Feb. 2027.
