Apple Inc.’s latest iPhone 17 is a heavy duty powerhouse that excels in speed, camera, and features if you are willing to hold the weight.

First, the A19 Pro with six CPU cores and six GPU cores is a speed demon that will have even the most mundane apps blazing. In addition, the 17 Pro adds a vapor chamber to keep the internal temperature cooler as the A19 Pro sustains a high performance in editing or gaming.

The speedy chip and 6.3-inch ProMotion 3000-nit OLED display are now wrapped in an aluminum body enclosure to help with heat distribution. The matte finish of the Silver model looks high quality and wraps confidently across the new camera plateau.

The three-camera setup now sports three 48MP lenses – a main, ultrawide, and telephoto. The telephoto can zoom up to 8X for spectacular zoomed photos and videos. In addition, the new 18MP Center Stage front camera is outfitted with a square lens to allow users to take landscape photos and videos when the phone is held vertically.

The SIM tray variant, purchase in Australia, includes a slightly smaller battery but will still muster 31 hours of video playback instead of the 33 hours claimed for the U.S. version. Still, the battery life is very good and the lack of the mmWave antenna band did not prevent typically fast 5G speeds from the T-Mobile network.

For gaming, the A19 Pro can tackle any title, from standard mobile fare to console titles like Resident Evil 4. Again, the vapor chamber will keep performance high and temperatures low for improved frame rates over last year’s A18 Pro.
