The latest Motorola Razr 2025 is a solid update to an excellent entry-level model that includes premium features at a lower price point.

The Razr 2025 now sports a titanium hinge, said to be 4X stronger than the prior model, IP48 water and dust resistance, and a 4500mAh battery, larger than most models in the folding category.

This year’s Razr retains the great 6.9-inch pOLED 120Hz display and the handy 3.6-inch AMOLED 90Hz display. The external display can run any installed app, from Google Maps, YouTube, and Netflix. It can even run games, though certain apps will have formatting issues due to the smaller display. Charging speed is unchanged at 30W wired and 15W wireless.

Also unchanged are the main cameras, including the 50MP OIS main camera, 13MP ultrawide camera, and 32MP front camera. Each lens yields color variations and post-processing for average photo and video quality (up to 4K 30FPS).

Motorola does a great job catering the internal software to the flexibility of the hardware. For example, users watching Netflix on the outer screen can pause the video and start right where they left off when they open to the internal display. When propped into a kickstand posture, the camera isolates all camera controls to the bottom off the crease.

The main CPU, a MediaTek Dimensity 7400X, is a moderate update to the 7300X, with 15 percent faster AI performance. Performance is fast for routine browsing and streaming. The chipset can even handle intensive 30 to 60FPS gaming on the internal or external display.

Built into the 2025 model is new moto AI functionality for notification summaries and screen captures. The separate suite requires a Motorola account and runs parallel to Google Gemini which is also pre-installed in the software.

The Razr 2025 is the best entry-level version of the Razr to date. While it is missing the flagship processor and top cameras from the Ultra variant, the main updates to the hinge, durability, and battery offer a top-tier package in the palm of your hand.
