Sony Corp.’s PlayStation 5 ranked as the No. 2 top-selling video game hardware in the latest retail data from Japan.
Famitsu this month said the PS5 sold 17,348 units to rank as the No. 2 hardware between Jan. 18 and Jan. 24.
For the week, the PS5 sold 15,312 units and the PS5 Digital Edition sold 2,038 units.
It sold 7,328 units the week prior.
The PS5 includes an eight-core AMD Ryzen CPU based on the 7nm Zen 2 architecture at 3.5Ghz variable frequency. The custom Radeon GPU includes 36 compute units at 2.23Ghz for 10.28 TFLOPs capability, 8K graphics support, and ray-tracing.
The final hardware includes 16GB GDDR6 RAM and a 1TB SSD hard drive.
