Sony Corp.’s PlayStation 5 ranked as the No. 2 top-selling video game hardware in the latest retail data from Japan.
Famitsu this month said the PS5 sold 7,328 units to rank as the No. 2 hardware between Jan. 11 and Jan. 17.
For the week, the PS5 sold 6,496 units and the PS5 Digital Edition sold 832 units.
The PS5 includes an eight-core AMD Ryzen CPU based on the 7nm Zen 2 architecture at 3.5Ghz variable frequency. The custom Radeon GPU includes 36 compute units at 2.23Ghz for 10.28 TFLOPs capability, 8K graphics support, and ray-tracing.
The final hardware includes 16GB GDDR6 RAM and a 1TB SSD hard drive.
