Nintendo Switch No. 2; Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin No. 3 in Japan

Nintendo Co., Ltd.’s Nintendo Switch ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Famitsu this week said the Nintendo Switch sold 116,267 units between Nov. 9 and Nov. 15 to rank as the No. 1 hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 139,200 units to rank at No. 1 the week prior.

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin sold 32,906 units to rank at No. 3 for the week.

In Q2, Nintendo recorded an operating profit of $2.8 billion, a 209 percent increase from the year prior.

Between July to Sept., the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite accounted for 6.86 million in unit sales, with 5.31 million Nintendo Switch units and 1.55 million Nintendo Switch Lite units sold.

In addition, it sold 49.81 million units of software in the period.

The Nintendo Switch hardware has sold 68.3 million units to date and software has sold 456.49 million units to date.

The company forecasts shipment of 24 million Nintendo Switch units for the fiscal year ending Mar. 31, 2021, an increase from a prior forecast of 19 million units.
