Sony Corp. this week previewed the user interface for the PlayStation 5.
The PS5 UI will include a new Control Center in which the PlayStation button will initiate quick access to Home, Notifications, Game Base, Sound, Controller, and Power.
In addition, Control Center will display cards relevant to the title currently in use. Cards will offer Activities which display the current progress in level completion. Each Activity includes objectives and PlayStation Plus members will receive game help for hints to complete each objective.
The PlayStation Store is now integrated into the PS5 UI for fast access to purchase game titles and DLC.
Finally, users can employ the built-in controller mic to use voice dictation to message friends from the PS5 DualSense controller.
The PS5 will be sold at $499 Nov. 12.
The PS5 Digital Edition, which does not include a 4K UHD Blu-ray disc drive, will be sold at $399 Nov. 12.
Launch territories include the U.S., Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea.
It will be sold in other territories, including Europe, Middle East, South America, Asia and South Africa, Nov. 19.
