Nintendo Co., Ltd. this week said Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield for the Nintendo Switch has sold more than six million units at global retail in the launch weekend period.
In addition the titles sold more than two million units in the first two days of sale in the U.S.
The figure includes both physical and digital sales.
It is the highest-grossing launch of any Pokémon game.
The title is a brand new RPG in the franchise that includes the Galar region, an expansive area with plains, cities, and snow-covered mountains.
Users can choose one of three new Pokémon characters as their companion – Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble.
New features include Dynamax to increase the size and power of Pokémon for three turns.
Max Raid Battle is a new four-player co-op mode will allow trainers to team up and battle against a Dynamax Pokémon for the entire fight.
New Legendary Pokémon include Zacian and Zamazenta.
It sells at $59.99.
The Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Double Pack includes both Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, and download codes for Dynamax Crystals at $119.99.
