FINALSTECH

The King of Fighters ALLSTAR is a mobile beat-em-up title that delivers a catalog of classic KOF characters in quick mobile bouts.

In The King of Fighters ALLSTAR, users start as an unknown looking to join The King of Fighters tournament. Noah, a woman off the street, offers to help guide the player through the tournament rules.

Main actions include Attack, Dodge, and Block. Up to three Special Attack buttons can be used to execute trademark power moves. Each Special Attack takes a few seconds to replenish before it can be reused. In addition, up to two Special Card attacks can be equipped for super specials.

Each mission is quick, with a few disposable goons and a final boss to take down. In battle, it’s easy to switch characters, call Strikers, and initiate thorough beat downs.

Earned credits can be used to summon new fighters to ultimately build a team of three and assign a Striker character to each main fighter. Later, an extra Support character can be added to the team.

In addition, users can unlock cores, and collect and trade Battle Cards to help increase stats.

The graphics engine is solid at 60 frames-per-second. Each character, while not particularly detailed, holds many variations from The King of Fighters ’94 to ’98 to new custom characters like Baseball Yuri. Even Brian Battler from the American Sports Team in The King of Fighters ’94 is here to rumble.

The King of Fighters ALLSTAR is a fun and fast mobile title that puts franchise fighting action into an accessible beat-em-up. The best part is that it costs nothing to enter the fight.

It can be downloaded at the App Store for iOS or the Play Store for Android.
