Apple Inc. this week said the new Mac Pro PC will be manufactured in Austin, Texas.

Production is said to begin soon at the same facility where the Mac Pro has been made since 2013.

The announcement follows a federal production exclusion the company has received for select required components.

The Mac Pro will include a new stainless steel space frame for easy configuration, up to 28-core CPUs, six-channel memory system, eight PCI Express expansion slots, and Radeon Pro Vega II Duo functionality.
