Nintendo Co., Ltd. this week said the Nintendo Switch Online service has exceeded 9.8 million in global memberships.
The total includes family memberships which allow up to eight accounts in a family group at $34.99 for one year, and excludes free trial memberships.
Nintendo Switch Online is a paid service that provides access to online play. Titles including Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario Kart 8, Mario Tennis, and Sushi Striker: Way of Sushido will require a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
In addition, paid service offers a selection of Nintendo Entertainment System titles with added online play.
Finally, the service offers Save Data Cloud Backup to save data online.
The service is only for the Nintendo Switch and does not include the Wii U or Nintendo 3DS.
