Nintendo Switch No. 1; New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe No. 2 in Japan sales

Nintendo Co., Ltd.’s Nintendo Switch hardware ranked as the top hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co., Ltd. this week said the Nintendo Switch sold 53,270 units between Feb. 18 and Feb. 24 to rank as the No. 1 hardware for the week.

It sold 65,958 units the week prior.

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe ranked as the No. 2 software selling 22,430 units for the week.

In Q1, Nintendo recorded an operating profit of $272 million from $1.51 billion in revenue.

Between Apr. to June, the Nintendo Switch sold 1.88 million units.

In addition, it sold 17.96 million units of software in the period.

The company expects to sell 20 million Nintendo Switch units by the end of Mar. 2019.
