Nintendo Co., Ltd. this week cut its fiscal year shipment forecast for the Nintendo Switch.
The company this week said it expects to sell 17 million Nintendo Switch units in the fiscal year ending Mar. 2019, down from a 20 million unit forecast.
However, it increased the Nintendo Switch software forecast to 110 million units from 100 million units.
Nintendo released Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! during the key holiday quarter. Each title has shipped more than 10 million copies to date.
In Q3, Nintendo recorded an operating profit of $1.46 billion.
Between Oct. and Dec., the Nintendo Switch sold 9.42 million units to total 32.27 million units sold to date.
In addition, it sold 52.51 million units of software in the period to total 94.64 million units sold to date.
