Super Nintendo Classic Edition sells 2.5M units at retail

Nintendo Co. Ltd. this week said the Super Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition has sold more than 2.5 million units at U.S. retail.

The mini system includes 21 classic SNES titles, HDMI functionality, and two wired SNES Classic Controllers at $79.99.

Classic titles include Contra III: The Alien Wars, Donkey Kong Country, Earthbound, Final Fantasy III, F-ZERO, Kirby Super Star, Kirby’s Dream Course, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Mega Man X, Secret of Mana, Star Fox, Star Fox 2, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Castlevania IV, Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Super Punch-Out!!, and Yoshi’s Island.

Nintendo in Oct. said the NES Classic Edition and Super NES Classic Edition have sold more than 10 million units combined.
