This week, the Halo 4 Limited Edition SKU ranked as the No. 5 best-selling product in Amazon’s Video Games division.

The Halo 4 Limited Edition SKU will include War Game Map Packs for access to nine maps, early access to six Specializations to access new ranks and new customization options, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn – a 90-minute extended version of the live action digital series, and bonus digital content to download via Xbox Live.

The Limited Edition SKU will sell at $99.99.

Halo 4, to be sold Nov. 6, is the beginning of Reclaimer Saga, an epic new adventure in the Halo universe.

The title will include a new Spartan Ops mode to extend the campaign experience with new weekly downloadable episodes to be played solo or in co-op.

In addition, the title will include brand new multiplayer game modes, weapons, vehicles, armor abilities, loadouts, and progression system.

The 3DS ranked seven titles in the top 10, including Fire Emblem: Awakening at No. 2, Super Mario 3D Land at No. 5, Monster Hunter 3G at No. 6, Mario Kart 7 at No. 7, Kid Icarus: Uprising at No. 8, and Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games at No. 9.

Meanwhile, the Nintendo DSi LL sold 819 units and the Nintendo DSi sold 387 units for the week.

Nintendo in Apr. recorded a $460 million loss for the fiscal year amid lower-than-expected sales of the Nintendo 3DS handheld and the Wii console.

It sold 13.5 million Nintendo 3DS handhelds, down from a target of 16 million.

It shipped about five million Nintendo DS units.

Nintendo launched the Nintendo 3DS handheld with 18 software titles Mar. 27.

The hardware includes two screens, a 3D Depth Slider, a Circle Pad, a 2GB SD Card and 3-D display technology that does not require the use of special glasses.

Microsoft in Apr. recorded a 16 percent decline in the division that includes the Xbox business in third quarter results.

The Entertainment and Devices division posted revenue of $1.62 billion, a 16 percent decline from the year prior.

Microsoft cited a soft gaming market for the decline. The Xbox 360 held as the top console for the 15th consecutive month, and the company this quarter introduced new entertainment options to Xbox Live service to more than 40 million members.

For the fiscal year ending Mar. 31, 2012, the PS3 sold 13.9 million units, down from 14.3 million in 2011. It sold 1.9 million units in the quarter.

PS3 software sales increased 8.7 million units in the year to 156.6 million units.

It expects console sales to fall to 16 million units next fiscal year.

For the week of May 7, Minecraft ranked as the No. 1-selling Xbox Live Arcade title based on full versions purchased.

Microsoft in May said Minecraft has sold one million units in the first week of sale in the Xbox Live Arcade divison.

The title has held 5.2 million online hours of play, four million total multiplayer sessions played, and 2.4 million hours of multiplayer sessions since launch.

Microsoft last week said Minecraft has sold more than any other title previously released in the first 24 hours in the Xbox Live Arcade, including Trials Evolution.

Developed by 4J Studios, Minecraft for Xbox 360 is a translation of the sandbox simulation title.

It includes a new training mode that guides new users into the crafting process. In addition, a new console-friendly crafting interface allow users to see exactly which materials are needed to craft each item.

In the title, users can craft and build items by chopping world items like trees, rocks, and sand to build an array of tools, fuel, and materials. Tools can be used to craft materials faster, fuel can heat items to form new product or food from the furnace, and materials can be used to build a shelter to keep safe from monsters.

It is available now at 1600 Microsoft Points.
