Retailer Amazon.com this week price cut Activision Inc.’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360, and the PC to under $40 in a one-day sale.

On Wed., Modern Warfare 2 PS3, Xbox 360, and PC SKU held a sale price of $39.99, 33 percent off the $59.99 MSRP.

Modern Warfare 2 sold 6 million units in Nov. U.S. sales.

Modern Warfare 2 is sold in a stand-alone SKU at $59.99, and a Hardened Edition at $79.99.

Microsoft in Sept. announced the new Xbox 360 250GB Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition SKU.
