Best Buy Co Inc. stores this week began offering a discounted Xbox Live subscription with the purchase of a select game title for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360.

In the new offer, customers who purchase Halo 3: ODST, Left 4 Dead 2, or Modern Warfare 2 can purchase the Xbox Live 12-Month Gold Card at $29.99, $20 off the $49.99 MSRP.

Meanwhile, Amazon.com this week price cut the Xbox Live 12-Month Gold Card to $39.96 in a new sale.

The Xbox 360 sold 819,500 units in Nov. U.S. figures to rank second in console sales.

Microsoft in Nov. began sale of the new Xbox 360 250GB Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition SKU.
