Nintendo Co.’s Pink and Nintendo DSi edged out Sony Corp.’s PSP in the latest retail data from Japan.
Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the DSi sold 53,293 units between Sept. 28 to Oct. 4 to rank as the No. 1 hardware for the week.
The PSP sold
51,251 to rank No. 2 in the same period.
PSP sales held a sharp increase from 17,334 units the week prior due to a new price cut in the region.
Nintendo Co. in Sept. released the new Nintendo DSi Pink and White SKUs to U.S. retail.
The Nintendo DSi Pink handheld sells at $169.99 and the Nintendo DSI White handheld sells at $169.99.
Sony this week began sale of the PSP Go, a new 16GB handheld to hold all digital content.
The product sells at $249.99.
