Nintendo Co.’s Nintendo DSi and Sony Corp.’s PSP topped Japan retail charts in the latest hardware figures.
Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the DSi sold 38,783 units between June 1 and June 7 to rank No. 1 in overall sales.
By comparison, the PSP sold 29,070 units to rank second in the same period.
Nintendo in Apr. began sale of the Nintendo DSi at U.S. retail.
Sony this month announced the PSP Go, a new 16GB handheld to hold all digital content.
The product will be sold for $249 on Oct. 1.
