Target to sell Guitar Hero Wii Bundle for $59

Target Corp. stores on Black Friday will sell Guitar Hero: World Tour for Nintendo Co.’s Wii for under $60 in a front page deal.

During the two-day sale, the retailer will sell Guitar Hero: World Tour for $59, down from an $99.99 MSRP.

The SKU will include a copy Guitar Hero: World Tour and a wireless guitar.

Activision Inc. in Oct. release the Guitar Hero: World Tour Band Kit, which includes a guitar, drum kit, and microphone for $189.99.

World Tour is the first Guitar Hero title to offer the option to download additional content on Wii.

NPD Group Inc. in Nov. said that Wii sold 803,210 units to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the month in the U.S.

Nintendo in Oct. recorded a 34 percent increase in profit at 252.2 yen ($2.56 billion) in the fiscal first-half between Apr. and Sept.

It subsequently increased Wii shipment forecasts to 27.5 million from 26.5 million and DS software shipments to 207 million from 197 million.

Wii has shipped 34.55 million units worldwide to date, while the Nintendo DS has shipped 84.33 million units to surpass shipments of the Game Boy Advance (81.36 million).

Nintendo in Oct. released Wii Music, a new casual title that allows players to improvise more than 60 instruments.
