Best Buy offers Asus EEE PC after Aspire One sell out

Best Buy Co. Inc. stores on Sun. began offering ASUSTek Inc.’s Asus EEE PC netbooks to customers following a sell out of Acer Inc.’s Aspire One product.

Beginning Oct. 11, the retailer will sell the Asus EEE PC 900A netbook, featuring an Intel Atom CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB Solid State Hard Drive, 8.9-inch widescreen and Linux for $329.99.

Additionally, it will retail the Asus EEE PC 1000HD featuring an Intel Celeron CPU, 1GB RAM, 120GB Hard Drive, 10-inch widescreen and Windows XP Home for $379.99.

The sale follows the sell out of Acer’s Aspire One netbook at Best Buy in late Aug.

The latest Aspire One features an Intel Atom CPU, 160GB Hard Drive, 1GB RAM, 8.9-inch screen and six-cell battery for $399.95.

The Aspire One currently ranks as the No. 1 best-selling notebook at Amazon.com.

Acer also offers a Linux-equipped model for $329.99.
