Sales for Sony Corp.’s BDP-S350 Blu-ray player increased on Fri. at Amazon.com amid a sharp discount for the product.
On Fri., sales for the BDP-S350 increased 200 percent to rank as the No. 4 best-selling item in the Electronics division.
The retailer this week discounted the Blu-ray player to $266.83, down from a $299.99 list price. It previously price cut the hardware to $295.
Amazon this month is holding a range of promotions on Blu-ray disc products to spur sales.
Amazon price cut Sony’s BDP-S300 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player to $229 to clear inventory of the product.
This week began offering a $50 discount with the purchase of select Blu-ray players by Sony Corp. and three Warner Bros. Blu-ray disc titles.
Amazon is concurrently promoting a Blu-ray disc sale that discounts up to 55 percent off the list price.
Lastly, the retailer this week began taking pre-orders for Sony’s Blu-ray backed 160GB Playstation 3 Bundle.
Announced in Aug., the limited edition bundle will include the title Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, a Playstation Network voucher for Pain, and a Dualshock 3 Wireless Controller for $499.99.
