Amazon.com this week began taking pre-orders for Sony Corp.’s new Ratchet and Clank PSP Entertainment Pack, which includes an updated PSP hardware SKU.
The Ratchet & Clank PSP Entertainment Pack, to be released on Oct. 14, includes the PSP-3000 hardware, Ratchet and Clank Size Matters game disc, National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets UMD, echochrome Playstation Network download voucher, and 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo for $199.99.
The SKU includes the PSP-3000 model, which features a new LCD screen with a wider color gamut and anti-reflection technology, and a built-in microphone for multiplayer gaming and Skype calls.
The PSP sold 221,700 units in July to rank at No. 4 in game hardware sales, according to NPD Group Inc.
Sony in Aug. began selling a new Madden NFL 09 PSP Entertainment Pack.
Sony this month released the new 80GB PS3 at an aggressive $399.99, the price of its previous 40GB model.
The product includes a built-in Blu-ray disc drive for high-def movies and a new Dualshock 3 controller with rumble functionality.
