Sony Corp.’s U.S. game division this week said that a new update for the Playstation Network title Novastrike for the Playstation 3 will includes support for Tropies and retuned difficulty options.
The update, due in several weeks, will offer Recruit, Soldier, Veteran, and Hardcore. Recruit, Soldier, and Veteran have been tamed in response to fan frustration.
The update will also add a total of sixteen trophies, 12 bronze and four silver.
Other add-ons include customization controls, XMB Music Playlist support, Multiple Saved Games, Brief Invulnerability After Re-spawning and other refinements.
Developed by Tiki Games, Novastrike was released in June for the Playstation Network. The title is a free-roaming top-down arcade shooter with upgradeable weapons.
According to NPD Group Inc., the PS3 posted sales of 224,900 units in July U.S. sales to represent a 99 percent hardware sales growth from the year prior to date.
Sony this month cited the popularity of the PS3 80GB Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle, which has held a sold out status at retailers including Walmart.com and Bestbuy.com.
Additionally, the PS3 outsold Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 posted sales of 204,800 units in July to rank as the No. 5 video game hardware offering for the month.
