Amazon.com on Wed. began offering a new 50 percent off Blu-ray sale in the latest high-definition promotion.
A total of 83 titles are eligible for the offer, including Mad Men - Season One, The Bank Job, No Country For Old Men, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, The Prestige, Rambo, and 3:10 to Yuma.
The sale includes new releases and pre-order titles.
Amazon offered a ‘Buy 2 Get 1 Free’ promo earlier this month.
Toshiba Corp. this week began selling the new XD-E500 upconvert DVD player in an effort to capitalize on consumers unwilling to invest in Sony Corp.’s Blu-ray format.
The player is said to provide standard DVD images closer to high-definition quality, allowing consumers to utilize their existing DVD library.
Recent top Blu-ray sellers at Amazon include Iron Man, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Transformers.
