Sega of America, Inc. on Tues. said that it will release The House of the Dead: Overkill to Nintendo Co.’s Wii in spring 2009.
Developed by Headstrong Games, the latest entry in the arcade shooting series will feature a new graphic style, retro music, and new motion-sensitive actions using the Wii Remote.
“The refreshing new visual style, bold art direction and visceral gameplay of The House Of Dead: Overkill truly makes it standout on the Wii,” says Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President of Marketing for Sega of America, Inc.
In the title, Agent G and Agent Washington investigate mysterious disappearances in Bayou City and subsequently encounter the living dead.
The final game will incorporate co-op two-player action, Slow-Mofo Time, and the Evil Eye to spot moments of opportunity for on-screen destruction.
Motion-sensitive actions include the ability to shuck a Shotgun when enemies get too close and pistol whip enemies.
Sega previously released The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return to the Wii in Mar. 2008.
