2K Games, a division of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., on Tues. said that it will release the first-person action title Bioshock to Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 on Oct. 21.
The PS3 version will include all-new features, like Survivor difficulty mode, Trophy support and all-new Add-On Game Content.
New Add-On Game Content will include Challenge Rooms to test the skills of new and veteran players. The first Challenge Room will be available for download shortly after launch.
“We are proud to introduce 2K Games’ showcase title, BioShock, to an entirely new audience,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K.
“With the addition of the new Add-On Game Content we are able to extend the award-winning adventure while maintaining the perfect harmony that millions of players around the world have fallen in love with.”
Bioshock is an action title set in an underwater Art Deco world inhabited by genetic mutations. In the title, players can customize unique battle options to survive the world of the Rapture.
Bioshock was previously released on Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 and PC in 2007.
