Survival horror title Cursed Mountain to haunt Wii

July 31st, 2008 · No Comments

Deep Silver Inc. this week said that it will release a new survival horror title called Cursed Mountain exclusively to Nintendo Co.’s Wii in 2009.

The title is said to use a gesture-based combat system and use the Wii Remote to look around, climb, and fight enemies.

In the title, a mountaineer climbs to the Himalayas to find a lost brother. He discovers the souls of villagers, pilgrims, mountaineers and Buddhist monks blocking his path.

“With a fresh setting, gloomy atmosphere and the innovative use of the Wii controls, Cursed Mountain will deliver a unique, terrifying game play experience,” said Hannes Seifert, Managing Director at the Deep Silver development studio.

“We are confident that with its dense atmosphere and unique setting, Cursed Mountain will resonate with hardcore gamers, particularly since the game takes full advantage of the Wii control capabilities. It will help in further establishing our premium games label Deep Silver internationally.”

Nintendo this week recorded a Q1 profit of 107.27 billion yen ($996 million) on strong sales for the Wii home video game console.
