Advanced sales for Namco Bandai Inc.’s Soul Calibur IV Premium Edition for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 ranked in the top 10 sales on Wed. prior to the title’s release next week.
On Wed., the Premium Edition held a sales increased of 900 percent to rank at No. 10 in Amazon’s Video Games division.
Additionally, the standard edition ranked at No. 14 in the same period.
Meanwhile the standard edition for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 ranked at No. 46, followed by the Premium Edition at No. 158.
In early July, Amazon recorded higher pre-sales for the Soul Calibur IV PS3 SKUs over the Xbox 360 versions.
The $79.99 Premium Edition will include an exclusive comic/art book that is a prequel to the latest entry, a tournament kit, and a bonus redemption card that unlocks extra customization content.
In addition to new and old characters, Soulcalibur IV will include Star Wars icons Darth Vadar and Yoda as playable characters.
The final game will include a high-definition graphics, online play, and brand new gameplay modes, including Story, Arcade, Tower of Lost Souls, Training, Character Creation, and Museum modes.
The previous installment, Soulcalibur III, was released on the Playstation 2 in 2005.
