Harmonix Inc. and MTV Games’ Rock Band Special Edition for Nintendo Co.’s Wii stayed in the top 10 on Tues. following a discount at Amazon.com to $139.99.
The item ranked as the No. 3 best-selling product in Amazon’s Video Games division on Mon. morning.
Amazon last week discounted the SKU, which debuted to U.S. retail in late June, to $139.99, an 18 percent price cut from the $169.99 MSRP.
Rock Band for Wii features over 60 songs, including five extra bonus tracks exclusive to the hardware.
The Special Edition Bundle includes game software, wireless drums, drum sticks, microphone, guitar strap and a wireless guitar.
Stand-alone instruments can be purchased separately.
Rock Band allows players to form a virtual band with drum, guitar, and microphone peripherals.
Harmonix, MTV Games, and EA Inc. this week announced that Rock Band 2 will debut this Sept. on Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360. It will be released on other platforms later in the year.
Activision Inc. will release Guitar Hero World Tour, which will include multiple instrument peripherals this fall. Also, Konami Inc. will also step into the music band genre with Rock Revolution this year.
