Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 ranked No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail sales figures for the region.
Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the Xbox 360 sold 3,807 units between July 7 and July 13. By comparison, the hardware moved 4,776 units the week prior.
Additionally, the Xbox 360 did not rank any titles in the top 50 game sales for the week.
Square Enix Co. this week announced that Final Fantasy XIII will be released to the Xbox 360. It did not disclose a Japan release for the title.
Microsoft held a setback in U.S. hardware sales this month as Sony Corp. claimed Playstation 3 sales 84 percent above the Xbox 360 in June.
The hardware sold 219,800 units for the month to rank behind the PS3 and Nintendo Co.’s Wii.
This month, Microsoft price cut the 20GB Xbox 360 Pro model by $50 to $299.99. It will sell a new 60GB model for $349.99 this fall.
