Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 held a slight drop in Japan in the latest hardware tally for the region.
Media Create Co. on Fri. said that the PS3 sold 12,458 between July 7 and July 13. By comparison, the hardware moved 14,359 units.
The PS3 was unable to rank any software titles in the top 10.
Sony this week said that sales for the PS3 were 84 percent higher than Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 in June U.S. sales, buoyed by Konami Corp.’s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
This week it showcased new titles at the annual E3 Media & Business Summit, including Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, and MotorStorm: Pacific Rift.
