E3: Video: Nintendo demos Wii Music sax and drums

July 15th, 2008 · No Comments

Nintendo Co. on Tues. demonstrated several instruments featured in the holiday release Wii Music for the Wii home entertainment system.

In the video, Nintendo Senior Managing Director Shigeru Miyamoto plays a virtual saxophone while joined by another player who plays the drums with two Wii Remote controllers and a Wii Balance Board.

Nintendo on Tues. said that Wii Music will feature more than 60 instruments including a violin, steel drums, electric guitar, and a cow bell.

In the title, players can play virtual instruments in a non-graded environment. Each user can save his or her arrangement and send it off to another player via WiiConnect24 to allow for another layer of music to be added.

Nintendo this week said that the Wii has sold more than 10 million units in the U.S. to date.
