Best Buy Co. Inc. stores on Sun. began offering the Microsoft Corp.’s newly discounted Xbox 360 in a high-definition bundle package in its latest circular.
The Xbox 360 bundle includes a $299 Xbox 360 Pro system, $1399 Samsung 40″ 1080p LCD HDTV, and $199 Geek Squad set up for $1399.97 after instant savings.
Best Buy this week is advertising separately a $50 price drop from the $349 Xbox 360 Pro SKU. The Pro option includes a 20GB hard drive and HDMI functionality.
NPD Group Inc. in June said that the Xbox 360 sold 186,600 units in May U.S. sales to rank as the No. 4 video game hardware for the month.
The figures ranked below Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, which ranked as the No. 3 best-selling console in May U.S. sales.
Additionally, the release of Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto IV did not spur 360 hardware sales as expected in May.
Microsoft in May touted sales of 10 million Xbox 360 units in the U.S. to date.
