Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle increased this week at Amazon.com following a restock of the popular hardware SKU.
The bundle, which includes Konami Inc.’s latest Metal Gear Solid entry, held a 4,033 percent sales increase by Thurs. afternoon to rank at No. 6 in the Video Games division.
The MGS4 PS3 80GB SKU that includes a copy of the game and a Dualshock 3 controller for $499.99.
Metal Gear Solid 4 is the latest entry in the top-selling stealth action franchise. The new title is said to be Snake’s final mission in an attempt to foil Liquid Snake and his army.
Sony last week yanked a new software update for the PS3 amid reports that the new installation caused hardware malfunction for select owners.
It redeployed an updated version of the firmware to owners earlier this week.
