Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 increased 26 percent in Japan in the latest retail data for the region.
Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the Xbox 360 sold 2,555 units between June 16 and June 22. By comparison, the hardware sold 2,163 units the week prior.
The 360 did not rank any software titles in the top 50 sales. Last week, Tecmo Inc.’s Ninja Gaiden 2 ranked at No. 38.
Microsoft this month announced a new wave of role-playing titles for the Xbox 360 at the Xbox 360 RPG Premier Event in Japan.
New titles include Infinite Discovery, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, and Tales of Vesperia.
NPD Group Inc. this month said that the Xbox 360 sold 186,600 units in May U.S. sales to rank as the No. 4 video game hardware for the month.
