Konami Inc.’s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 neared top 10 sales on Sat. on strong pre-order sales.
On Sat., Metal Gear Solid 4 ranked as the No. 11 best-selling video game at Amazon.com’s Video Games division.
Early in the week, the title ranked at No. 21.
Metal Gear Solid 4 is the latest entry in the top-selling stealth action franchise.
The new title is said to be Snake’s final mission in an attempt to foil iquid Snake and his army.
The game will include custom weapons and modifications through black market weapon trades.
Additionally, Snake’s new OctoCamo suit will allow Snake to blend in with his environment in real-time.
Finally, new high-tech gadgets include Metal Gear Mk. II reconnaissance tool and the Solid Eye to give Snake real-time information on enemies and surroundings.
Konami in May began orders for a limited edition Gun Metal Gray 40GB PS3 bundle that includes a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 Limited Edition.
The Limited Edition Metal Gear Solid 4 game includes Metal Gear Online, an exclusive behind-the-scenes Blu-ray disc, and CD Soundtrack.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be released on June 12.
