Amazon burns new 2 for $30 Blu-ray disc sale

May 16th, 2008 · No Comments

Amazon.com on Fri. began offering a new 2 for $30 Blu-ray disc sale in the latest high-definition promotion.

The sale collection features 40 Blu-ray disc titles, including Blade Runner, 300, Pan’s Labyrinth, The Patriot, A Few Good Men, Black Hawk Down, and A Knight’s Tale.

Most titles retail for $19.95 each.

Amazon in early May offered a ‘Buy Three for the Price of Two’ Blu-ray disc promo to spur high-def sales.

Blu-ray adoption has been slower-than-expected after the battle between it and Toshiba Corp.’s HD DVD high-defintion format.

All major retailers, including Best Buy Co. Inc., Wal-Mart Stores Inc., and Target Corp. continue to advertise weekly offers to help buyers make the move from standard definition DVDs to Blu-ray.

Bestbuy.com this month began offering a ‘2 for $30′ Blu-ray sale to online customers.

Additionally, Target this week is advertising $24.99 Blu-ray titles.
