Sales for Konami Corp.’s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 increased on Fri. one month prior to release at U.S. retail.
Metal Gear Solid 4 held a sales increase of 78 percent at Amazon.com on Fri. to rank No. 37 in the Video Games division.
New features in the game include an active camouflage to adapt to surroundings, a threat ring to denote enemy activity, and over-the-shoulder camera.
Konami Corp. in Apr. said that the beta for Metal Gear Online has been delayed due to higher-than-expected worldwide traffic.
Metal Gear Solid 4 will be sold in a Standard Edition for $59.99 and a Limited Edition for $84.99 available exclusively at GameStop retailers.
The title will be among the first new games to be compatible with Sony’s Dualshock 3 controller, which includes rumble functionality not found in the Sixaxis controller.
