Microsoft Corp. this week said that Rockstar Game’s Grand Theft Auto IV is the No. 1 Xbox Live online game.
In its first week, more than 2.3 million players have played GTA IV online.
Additionally, more than 1 million concurrent users played the game during the first weekend of release.
Take-Two Interactive this week said that the title has generated $500 million in first-week sales and has sold six million units across the Xbox 360 and Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 platforms.
Grand Theft Auto IV is the latest chapter in the best-selling Grand Theft Auto franchise.
The title focuses on Niko Bellic, an Eastern European immigrant who travels to Liberty City.
The Xbox 360 version will include two downloadable episodes available exclusively on Xbox Live.
