Nintendo Co.’s Mario Kart Wii stayed in front of Sony Corp.’s new Dualshock 3 controller at Amazon.com following the latter’s early debut to U.S. retail.
On Mon. evening, Mario Kart Wii ranked as the No. 1 product in the Video Games division, followed by the Dualshock 3 at No. 2.
Sony last week announced a one-week early release for the Dualshock 3, which provides rumble functionality not found in the Sixaxis controller.
The controller will also be bundled in a new PS3 80GB Metal Gear Solid 4 Pack to debut in June.
Mario Kart Wii is the latest installment in the racing franchise. The $49.99 SKU, to be released on Apr. 27, will include a new Wii Wheel peripheral for wireless racing action.
The title will include 16 new courses and 16 classic courses from previous titles, a choice of karts or motorbikes, and the option to place a Mii character in the driver’s seat.
