April 8th, 2008 · No Comments

Mastiff LLC this week said that it will release the title Major League Eating: The Game to Nintendo Co.’s WiiWare download service for the Wii home video game system in May.

Major League Eating: The Game will require players to join in eating competitions to master offensive and defensive actions.

The title will employ use of the motion-sensitive Wii Remote the fast eating action of a professional eating competition.

The final game will include competitions across 12 food types.

The WiiWare service will offer a library of low barrier-to-entry titles to the console. Initial titles include a platform adventure title called LostWinds, a new episodic game series, and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My life as a King.

The first U.S. WiiWare games will be available on May 12.

Wii has held strong sales in worldwide markets on casual game appeal. Top hits include Wii Play, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

This month, Nintendo will release the racing title Mario Kart Wii on Apr. 27. The SKU will include a new Wii Wheel peripheral for wireless racing action.
