Nintendo Co.’s Mario Kart Wii game title and Sony Corp.’s Dualshock 3 controller controller for the Playstation 3 battled for video game supremacy on Fri. as the two products shot to the top at Amazon.com.
Mario Kart Wii for the Wii held as the No. 1 product in the Video Games division on Fri. morning, followed by the Dualshock 3 controller at No. 3.
Mario Kart Wii is the latest installment in the racing franchise. It will be sold in a $49.99. SKU that includes the Wii Wheel peripheral.
Additionally, the Wii Wheel will be sold separately for $14.99.
Sony’s U.S. game division on Wed. said that the Dualshock 3 controller for the Playstation 3 will be released this week to U.S. retail.
Sales for the Dualshock 3 increased 900 percent at Amazon on Thurs., day prior to the Apr. 4 ship date, to gain from the No. 4 rank the No. 2 position.
Titles to be compatible with the new controller in the U.S. and Europe include Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots, Unreal Tournament 3, Condemned 2, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.
