Two Blu-ray titles ranked in the top 10 best-selling DVD titles at Amazon.com this week as the high-definition format grows in popularity.

Warner Bros.’ I Am Legend on Mon. afternoon ranked as the No. 4 top-selling DVD, while Disney’s National Treasure / National Treasure 2 Double Pack ranked in the No. 10 position.

I Am Legend is the No. 1 seller in the Blu-ray disc division at Amazon where it has held the position for the month of Mar. Amazon price cut the title by 47 percent to sell at $18.99.

National Treasure / National Treasure 2 Double Pack is an Amazon exclusive release that will retail both titles together for $39.99.

Interest in Blu-ray disc titles have increased following Toshiba Corp.’s exit from the HD DVD business in Feb.

Circuit City stores this week are offering 50 percent off all HD DVD inventory, while Amazon is offering up to 57% off select HD DVD titles and box sets.

Retailers this week have held back on Blu-ray disc promotions as the default high-definition format sees no competition in the marketplace.

Select retailers continue to offer ongoing promotions to promote Blu-ray adoption.

Amazon this month began offering up to 47% off hot Blu-ray disc titles in the latest promotion for the high-definition format.

The retailer has discounted more than 100 Blu-ray titles, including I Am Legend at $18.99, Planet Earth: The Complete BBC Series at $66.95, Twister at $19.95, and Goodfellas at $19.95.
