Sony Corp.’s U.S. game division on Mon. said that the Playstation Store for the Playstation 3 will receive a revamp to in mid-Apr.
The company says the improved Playstation Store will feature improved navigation and allow customers to more easily and quickly locate and purchase games, download demos, game videos, Blu-ray movie trailers, and other content.
Beginning Apr. 3, no additional content will be made available at the Playstation Store prior to the revamp, however owners can still purchase and download content in the interim.
A free firmware update will be made available to users who access the Playstation Store when the revamp is complete.
Sony Corp. this month said that the Playstation Network online service may have encountered unauthorized access to personal account information connected to purchases made through the Playstation Store.
The company said it is possible that a small percentage of user passwords may have been changed to allow access to personal information or the Playstation Wallet, used to purchase items at the Playstation Store.
Sony said it has taken immediate measures to rectify the issue and that system security has been restored.
