Cruis’n USA leads new Wii Virtual Console titles

Nintendo Co. on Mon. announced a new wave of Virtual Console titles for the Wii home video game system.

Cruis’n USA is a 1-2 Player title for the Nintendo 64. Players can race through scenic locations including Golden Gate Bridge, Mount Rushmore and the White House in five difficulty levels. The title also includes two-player simultaneous racing. It retails for 1,000 Wii Points.

Wonder Boy is a 1-2 Player title for the Sega Master System. Players take the role of Tom-Tom the Wonder Boy to rescue Tanya from an evil monster. The title retails for 500 Wii Points.

Nintendo this month said that Mario Kart Wii will be released on Apr. 27 in the U.S. It will be sold with the Wii Wheel for $49.99.

Additionally, in Mar. it said that the title Super Smash Bros. Brawl has sold 1.4 million copies in one week of availability.

NPD Group Inc. this month recorded sales of 432,000 Wii units in Feb. U.S. sales to rank as the No. 2 best-selling video game hardware for the month.
